Self Control and Resilience

At Elm Park we have three values Respect, Resilience and Responsibility.   We have spent many hours talking about these values and ways that we can demonstrate these positively in our class and around Elm Park.

On Wednesday the class was involved in a "self control challenge".  At the end of the challenge we talked about the "pros" and "cons" (see the picture) and then linked it directly to our "Resilience" value.

It was really interesting to see how focused the class was during the afternoon learning session, they even commented themselves about how "on task" they all were.  We will continue to be involved in a variety of "self control" activities over the next few week.

Can you guess what our challenge was ?

Have you noticed when you try to not think about something that you think about it even more? Great self control guys - that would have been tricky trying to ignore the marshmallow.

Amazing self control from everyone in Room 19......

Not easy with those marshmallows staring back at you from the table top.
